During a walk around Cairns, we went along this clearing. I was struck by the atmosphere that emanated from it: it was beautiful, quiet, without harsh and direct light from the sun, nature everywhere, much less human. And at the same time, images of the many inevitable movies about Vietnam and one begins to imagine the helicopters landing their people, fire, smoke, explosions, well… despite us, the dream becomes agitated, fucking history!
About shooting, I used my favorite “to the right” exposure method, then I lower the exposition on post-processing. This gives me a way better efficiency to work with details on shadows and this technic also greatly lower the amount of noise on those areas.
